MRC Needs Help this Saturday  Freeport Illinois – Madonna Renewal Center in Freeport needs help this Saturday, Feb 6 2016, from 9:00-12:00 AM. The Madonna Renewal Center is moving forward; mold and asbestos have been removed from the five story future home of the Madonna Renewal Center. Project leader for the Madonna Renewal Center (MRC) Roger L. Kampmier had this to say.  “As of this time we have removed a lot of metal from the walls of our building, but the number of volunteers turning out to help has been low. Please see if you can spare some time for the Lords work.” Roger further stated  “We will provide dust masks for those coming to help. Please bring gloves for your hands to protect against cuts while moving metal to the staging area. I will need some of the men attending to bring crow bars and Saws-All’s to finish the remaining metal removal that is needed. We have basically finished the first floor to the third floor and still have metal to demo out for the fourth and fifth floors. Older kids can help but not with any power tools of crowbars. We need to move metals to the first floor from all floors so we have that staged to haul out for scrap and salvage. We would like to have everything done and metal moved to the old pool area by the time we are done this weekend, so there will be a lot of hauling from all floors. If we have enough bodies we may be dome before the noon deadline.” Roger L. Kampmier Project Leader MRC. For further information please call Phone: 815-275-5666

Life Conflicts

I want to share with all of you this message I previously posted on facebook: Each time I reflect on life issues particularly Abortion, James 2:16 comes to mind “and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”-but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do? Then, I ask myself, what good is it to say to a woman who is pregnant, conflicted, confused without support system, you must preserve life? Goodness me! The very air she breathes seems to shout “Get rid of your baby.” I want to be there for this woman. I want to provide her a home. I want to help her remember that she is a precious pearl in the arm of her Creator. Please, pray for the success of Madonna Renewal Center. Help draw support for www.madonnarenewalcenter.com. A very nice Catholic reacted to this post by stating “Would it not be better if God focused upbringing were upheld to save us later acts that seem holier than thou attitude…..? Would it not be cheaper to build good family upbringing than waste time and resources providing homes for a group that our hypocrisy has caused to blossom, etc?”

Thank You from the Sisters At the Madonna Renewal Center

Madonna Renewal Center-Freeport Illinois-  Thank you to the over 300 people who donated money and attended the spaghetti dinner held by the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary to raise funds for the renovation of the Madonna Renewal Center. Thank you to all the volunteers that spent time preparing and serving dishes that had been provided for this event. Thank you to Pastor Keith Johnson and First Lutheran Church for allowing us to use their facilities for this event and allowing the Sisters to hold their committee meetings there. We are an all Faith based group within the Community attempting to make a place of healing and hope for women in need of our services.

Madonna Renewal Center Spaghetti Dinner

MadonnaRenewalCenter.com – Freeport, Il – by Annarae – On Tuesday, February 17, over two hundred people braved the icy cold winds to enjoy good food, fellowship, and to help a worthy cause, the renovation of the former St. Francis Hospital.  This event was held in the lovely facilities of the First Lutheran Church in Freeport.  We are grateful to Pastor Keith Johnson and to the First Lutheran Church community for allowing us to use their facilities, not only for this event but for graciously allowing the Sisters and the various committees to hold their monthly meetings there. The Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM), our “Blue Nuns” held a spaghetti dinner to raise funds for their project, the Madonna Renewal Center, which will be a place of healing and hope to women.   To say this event was a success would be an understatement!  A steady stream of hungry folks kept all the volunteer kitchen crew busy the entire time.  Everyone raved about how wonderful everything tasted and many asked when the next dinner would be held.  Spaghetti, meat balls or sauce, salad with a tasty Italian style dressing, garlic bread and a beverage made a filling and oh, so enjoyable meal, or perhaps I should  say feast.  This was all topped off with an array of desserts that filled over two long tables from which one could pick a generous portion of cakes, cookies, or pies.  Trust me, no one went away hungry!

Everything Old Is New Again

Madonna Renewal Center-  Freeport Illinois-  Slowly but surely the Madonna Renewal Center (MRC)  website is coming to life.  A big thank you goes out to the Sisters of the  Immaculate Heart of Mary (SIHM) and all the MRC committees who have made this possible.  Because we are just getting our web up and running, we will re-present some of the articles from the past six months that were posted on other web sites in order to bring all of our supporters and readers up to date. Some of you have participated in these events or read about or saw a video on these events presented below.  Please bear with us; in a couple of weeks all reports will be fresh and new. The first major outreach to the Freeport community was held September 20, 2014 and was promoted as the “Come and See” event.  The Sisters wanted everyone to meet some of Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and to see the future home of the Madonna Renewal Center.

Come and See the Future Home of the Madonna Renewal Center

Madonna Renewal Center- Freeport, Il – 9-14-2014 – by Annarae Freeport, Il has been blessed to have several Nigerian nuns from the order of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother of Christ.  Their presence has been noted not only by their tireless work in the community, but also by their bright blue habits; many of us refer to them as our Blue nuns.  They are now working on a very special project that will help not only women, but the entire community as well.  They have already been teaching at the local Catholic schools, providing care at a local nursing center and many other spiritual and social services for our area.  They were given, for a meager sum, the old St. Francis Hospital building.
